Qt for Python (PySide6)
The WIRE user interface uses PySide6 from the Qt Company, licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 (LGPL-3.0). Qt itself is copyright The Qt Company Ltd. and other contributors.
- Qt and PySide6 are used as shared libraries and are not modified by us.
- You can get the corresponding Qt for Python source from the PySide6 package page.
- The LGPL-3.0 lets you replace the Qt libraries with your own build.
Python
WIRE embeds the Python runtime, licensed under the Python Software Foundation License. Python plugins run on this runtime.
Windows APIs
The audio engine uses the Windows Audio Session API (WASAPI), part of Windows.
Not included
Virtual Audio Cable
Virtual Audio Cable (VAC) is a product of Eugene Muzychenko. It is a separate, commercially licensed product that you install yourself. WIRE does not include it or redistribute it. Tabor Digital is not affiliated with its author. See the official VAC site.
