WIRE 0.1.0
October 19, 2026 · Beta
The first public release of WIRE, a Windows audio router and mixer. It is a young product. It works, and it is not finished.
- Route and mix audio between microphones, games, music, browsers, chat apps and playback devices. Many inputs can play to many outputs at once.
- Draw your routing on a visual node graph. Lines light up only when the audio engine confirms audio is flowing.
- Build your own mixer. The mixer page starts empty. Add faders, buttons, meters and labels, use multiple pages, and undo and redo. Everything is saved in one setup file.
- Shape the signal with nodes: merge, switcher, selector, stereo split and join, mono, gain and pan, 6-band parametric EQ, compressor, limiter, noise gate, ducker and delay.
- Control it with scripts, a local HTTP API on 127.0.0.1 with a token, a command-line tool and a Python client.
- Extend it with Python plugins. All plugins are disabled by default. One example plugin, auto-duck, is included.
- Switch whole setups with profiles such as Gaming, Movie and Late night. Share setups by copying the .wiresetup file.
- Set up named, typed virtual cables (Input, Output and BiWIRE) with a guided wizard. These need Virtual Audio Cable, see below.
- Read real engine levels on the meters, and get plain-language hints when something fails, for example when another app holds a device exclusively.
- Run on a native C++ audio engine (WASAPI) with clock-drift correction between devices and click-free changes.
